Knight VTVM repair with video
« on: November 15, 2015, 09:59:27 pm »
Just posted a little video I did about my repair of a Knight KG-620 Vacuum Tube Volt Meter.

For the younger crowd, a VTVM is an analog meter that has a high impedance like a DMM. They are still commonly used for aligning radios and any other purpose where you would like to see the analog movement, but have very little effect on the circuit under test.

This unit had some previous repairs that were kind of shoddy, and I wouldn't want to put the 1500V rated voltage through it, but it will be great for my uses.

Built up the VTVM probes from the kit I mention in the video, and they work great.

Glad you liked it. I am not advanced enough to film the whole process and show it. So instead I just try to recap the issues I had, etc.
