Kobo Glo
« on: October 23, 2022, 10:50:31 am »
Hello there !

I have a problem with a Kobo Glo (its an electronic reader).

The battery charge dont start and the reader dont show any sign of life even connected to a computer via usb.

I have check that the supply voltage coming from an usb adapter, goes to the motherboard. So usb adapter, cable and usb socket are ok.
Then I have check the LiPo battery. Its a 3.7 V 1200 mAh GN345361 dated more or less year 2014. It show 0 volt, connected or not.
The battery dont show any sign of damage like swollen. The only sign before failure was a shorter than before working time after full reload...

My assumption is that the problem is here and that I can change the battery and get a working again reader.
But powered via a cable and battery disconnected the reader always refuse to show any sign of life.
In this case should the reader start or is it normal that they dont work without battery ?

Thanks for advice's.
Regards.
Philippe
