KRK RP8 Caps replacement
« on: April 02, 2019, 06:27:38 am »
Hi I have RP8 model also with that black gunk stuff and rust problem. But I am also replacing all that Yiiiiiichon caps. I will tell me friend to replace all of them small ones and big ones with same V and uF. I will order from different sellers, what can I do. Here in my country they don't have Nichicon or Rubycon, only Samwha and some low quality caps like that :D

But I am strugling to see because of that black gunk and position what values are those capacitors on the picture that I circled if someone can help me so I can order them too, and to tell me if they are normal caps or low esr. Picture in attachment.

I mean when you do some maintenance it needs to be done properly by replacing all of them :D right ? what do you think ?

If you plan to remove them anyway can't you check then what their labels say?

By the way, the green CH105 at the bottom looks charred. Maybe.

It wasn't charred, it was that black gunk on it.

Just to say:

All caps were replaced on both boards on both monitors. Monitors are working great for almost year now, no hiss, no buzzing from tweeter or woofer, silent in idle. And I must say that sound is kind of better now, healthier.
