| KSGER SMD Rework station ERROR |

| floobydust:
Your connector COUT is missing the extra 4th pin, the thermistor is for cold-junction "cold end" temperature correction, I'm not sure what you're going to achieve if the wire for it is missing. But it's not really needed anyhow - in the menu you can select NTC or use the MCU's temperature, either way it should display around room temp. The error is the thermocouple is pegged, double check the wiring from R13 to the connector to the handle, something is not right there. The red LED should not be lit. |

So could it be my magnetic switch in the handle is broken? I've seen it work once and then no more. If the reed switch is always connected as if the magnet is present this could cause no power to the heater. |

I would say you'll have to draw a wiring diagram of the wand and the GX connectors. The thermocouple wire ends up crossed with something else, so the controller sees max temperature all the time. Be careful too because there is mains and you don't want that mixed up with the low voltage stuff. The reed-switch is closed by the magnet when in the cradle and grounds that digital input. |

Hi, I know it has been a year, but I had the exact same problem and solved using various online resources including this. Hope that helps if someone has the same problem. Core of the problem is: Mismatch between the handle wiring and the board. The "COUT" connector is from left to right (also written on the other side of the board for me): * T: Tip of the the blower (one side, the other being grounded) * G: Ground * N: NTC (one side, the other being grounded) * S: Reed switch (one side, the other being grounded) That does not match the internal wiring of the handle, plus the NTC comes separately in a little bag. To make it work, you need to open the handle, and re-wire it. You do not need to rewire: * Fan motor (2 wires) * Heating element AC (2wires) The other four must be rewired so you got: * One wire (yellow in my case) going to one of the small wires going in the heating element. That goes to the T of the COUT connector * One wire (green in my case) connected to * Ground of the heating element * One side of the reed(s) switch(s) * One side of the tip (second small wire going into the heating element) * One side of NTC (little component coming separately in the bag) That goes to the G of the COUT connector * One wire (red in my case) connected to one side of the NTC * One wire (white) connected to the other side of the reed(s) switche(s) Here is a schematic taken from this video: that could be of some help: Picture of my modified handle: |

In addition to the other pictures, here are some that I made while upgrading the rework station. My wand fan broke and thus provided no cooling for the heating element, which melted the wand... Before: After: |
