Kunkin KL283 issues
« on: December 26, 2021, 03:41:20 am »
I have a newly acquired used KL283.

It was poorly packed and had a few connectors out of their receptacles. Once reconnected it appears to basically work OK with the exception of all four pots.

Three of the four are appropriately at 0 when at their respective 0 stops, but increase the volts or amps as applicable rapidly with the slightest movement, then back to 0 as you increase them just 20 or 25% of the adjustment range, to their full stop.  The remaining pot, I think it is the CC on Channel 1 won’t 0 at the stop, it calls for 30ma with a 6 volt battery, then goes to 0 rapidly with the slightest increase then increases to max as you reach full range.

Anyone with a fair knowledge of the circuitry in these units who might be able to steer me in the right troubleshooting direction?

Also, there is one connector with two blue wires coming from the transformer that has no open recepticle. There are a few 3-conductor recepticles but none for two. Normal?

Thanks for any assistance.
Jeff

Surely someone has one of these or the similar 284 or 293 who can at least tell me about the homeless connector.

And if no one can direct me for troubleshooting the strange reactions to pot adjustments, maybe someone has a schematic?
