Kyoritsu 1009 goes "OL" at each measurement
« on: February 16, 2021, 07:35:05 pm »
Didn't use my old Kyoritsu 1009 for a while.
So, I put new batteries in it and it seemed to work, at least all of V, Ω, ][, Hz, µA, mA and A displayed the normal output when leads are not connected.
And Ω, µA, mA and A seem OK when leads are connected.

However for some reason, V, Hz and ][ (capacitance) do not work:
 - for whatever V measurement,  AC or DC, like a 1.5V battery or from a power outlet, it shows after 1 second "OL", meaning Over Range.
 - same for ][ (tried from ~500 µF to ~2000 µF)
 - Hz simply remains at 0.000 and doesn't move at all

The last time I used it, all of that was working perfectly.

Can the affected features give a hint on where the problem might be?
More on the C/C++ development side, I'm afraid.

Bingo! Was the rotary switch, one of the contacts was misplaced.

Not sure why that triggers the OL behavior, but anyway, working now!

Well, it's a picture taken from the Internet somewhere... as it's worth a thousand words, and I didn't know how to describe these things  ;D
