Lampton FC2 Fan controller - reversed polarity damage
« on: December 28, 2015, 03:46:40 am »
Hi guys,

I was gifted this PWM fan controller by a friend as he thought I may be able to get it working. The damage sustained had taken out two of the channels. I made some repairs to traces with jumper wires and replaced 2 diodes. Now I have the 2 channels that were dead working, but they only run on full power and the pot has no impact.

I tried switching the transistor from another good channel, and also a pot over from another good channel but no luck. I just through a 1n4007 diode on the board as its all I had lying around. The channels are meant to be upto 45w per channel.

Any help on where to look next would be appreciated.

I will get some pics up tomorrow first thing.
