lappy backlight inverter fail.

just thought i would ask this,a few weeks ago my lappy screen went black ie no backlight,i changed the inverter and it was ok for about 3 seconds then a small noise from the inverter board and another black screen!,luckily i had another spare screen and inverter so fitted them and all is fine,just a question tho,could a fauly cold cathode backlight kill two inverters or was it coincidence?
