Laptop CMOS battery Could an ML1220 cell be it?
« on: April 07, 2022, 11:13:46 am »
Hi,

With some high effort I was able to disassemble the Acer TravelMate 8000 laptop to the level that I could get to an ML1220 cell. But as I don't have a repair manual for this laptop I'm not sure if this ML1220 is actually the CMOS battery. It was located near the main battery connector.

I hope if I replace this ML1220 cell it does solve it by remembering BIOS info. Could there be any possibility there would be another battery cell on this motherboard?

Your CMOS battery looks like big button style watch battery.
There is only one CMOS battery on the motherboard.
