LCD monochrome screen faded

Hi guys, anyone have an idea what causes the LCD screen of a car radio to fade and become illisible especially when exposed to sun and heat and can it be fixed without replacing the lcd screen, see the attachment and thank you

Bright sunlight is the worst enemy: https://lg-mri.com/sunlight-and-solar-clearing/   Heat doesn't help either.
