LCD repair
(1/1)

Hi,
I have a Samsung Syncmaster 204B that was failing. Did youtube/ebay searches, and by the plethora of video results and parts kits, it is obviously a very common problem. Bought the caps (from Mouser Electronics,) put them in last night, now the monitor starts right up like it should, but now I have a new problem |O, I have about 10 vertical lines on the screen (green, blue, pink, red.) Did I damage something else while doing this repair, is it another part damaged on the power supply board (shorted/overheated?) Or did I somehow damage the LCD screen itself and now it is hosed?

If all the bars are together in a space less than a few inches wide, I'd suspect one of the column drivers. Check that all the flex connectors to the panel are seated correctly, then reseat them anyway.

Thanks, I will try that and post results.
