LR38368 Datasheet needed (old SHARP LCD: V-HOLD missing)
« on: January 01, 2024, 02:33:43 pm »
Hello,

I wonder if anybody could help me with this problem.
Here I have this old sharp LCD. It is working and I traced the CSYNC and RGB inputs. It is from an mini poker machine. I want to repurpose the LCD for an test rig (arcade PCBs repair).
On the LCD PCB there is a footprint for H-HOLD but now potentiometer. The traces are connected to the LR38368 IC. There is no other marking for an V-HOLD pot. The image won't sync verticaly with 320x240 resolution. Other Pots and test points are marked like this:
VEE, VDD, VCC, H-POS, VG, H-HOLD, PD, VCO,VcAC, VcDC, B-SC, B-SB, R-SC, R-SB, CNT, R-SC, BRT

LCD panel: LQ6RA01 720x240   https://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/74838/Sharp_LCD_EL_1990.pdf https://gridcontroller.net/download/SHARP_interface_lcd_tft.pdf
Video of the vertical sync problem: https://youtube.com/shorts/nlJAYXgmmVA

I did find some schmetics for the other IC IR3P89 but I see no use for it. https://monitor.espec.ws/files/schem13lcd10-10_237.pdf

Any ideea how what can I do to get an V-HOLD on it and what should I do with the H-HOLD. I might need both of them.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you and happy new year!

I tried it now with an actual arcade PCB and it syncs just fine. That Raspberrry pi pico pattern generator might not have an true csync. I'll have to dig more.

Here I have traced the pinout and how the game PCB is driving the LCD.
LCD LQ6RA01 pinout - schematic

1, 2, 3, 5, 10 - NC
4, 7 - +5V
6, 8, 17, 18, 19, 20 - GND
9 - BIAS
12 - Brightness
11 - CSYNC
13 - RED
14 - GREEN
15 - BLUE
