LeCroy 9354AL - still running but emerging capacitor issue?

My 9354AL was left sitting for quite some time. When I went to start it got no response for a few minutes apart from cooling fan trying to start up - kicking every few seconds but not rotating. It would eventually start up, fan would rotate and everything operating normally. Have since been using it every week and it's slowly but surely come good to the point that it now starts immediately and works AOK.  Any suggestions as to what might cause this behaviour?  Wondering whether a cap is going bad but has reformed itself with regular use? Don't want to pull the power supply down without good cause, but perhaps easier to catch the problem before it becomes performance.

Could that be a mechanical (e.g., bearing) in the fan itself?  A stalled fan could pull down a power supply, but might revive after breaking through a sticky problem.

Sounds quite possible. Will have a look for a replacement - hopefully a bit quieter.
