Lecroy AP034 Oscilloscope Probe Repair
« on: December 02, 2023, 02:22:07 am »
I'm getting an "overload" error on a Lecroy AP034 probe. This particular probe's history is unknown to me. At least it initializes in my scope. Does anyone happen to have a service manual for it? That may point to some of the potential causes of the error or schematics to help in diagnosis. I haven't really even been able to discern how to take the probe head apart without permanently damaging it, as it is completely encased in metal.

I was able to find the operator's manual (attached) but the troubleshooting section of it was mostly in reference to operating misgivings, not issues with the probe itself.

I can't remember having seen service information on any Lecroy active probe. Another place you could ask is the Lecroy owners group on groups.io.

My guess would be that the input FETs got destroyed by excessive voltage or ESD.
