Lecroy WaveRunner (M)Xi-A encoders
« on: August 11, 2020, 09:23:40 am »
Just for the info to remain somewhere, as I'm just in the process of fixing some broken knobs/shafts on a LeCroy WaveRunner MXi-A, here are the parts numbers...

There are 2 types of encoders, with or without (push)switch, all types are from ALPS, have a size of 12mm (i.e. PCB footprint), and an overall length/height (referred to by ALPS as 'shaft length', but that's wrong to me...) of 20mm, and 24 detents

EC12E24404A8 -> without switch, light jog (the default from Lecroy)
EC12E24204A8 -> without switch, standard jog (just a bit 'harder' to turn), but can be used as well

EC12E2444400 -> with switch, light jog (the default from Lecroy, but no longer orderable, at least I don't find any...)
EC12E2424407 -> with switch, standard jog

As for the knobs (the black ones)... don't ask... I don't know !!! ;-)
For now, Lecroy is relatively kind to give/sell some when needed (although I'm not too sure this goes well for everyone...)

For the older scope types (Xi, Xs & Co), LeCroy no longer has those, I believe they collect some when they have dead units passing by, so they may occasionally be able to help while servicing a scope, but you won't get any spares from LeCroy directly.
