LeCroy WS434 help
« on: July 25, 2021, 08:20:38 am »
Hi,

New owner of this unit. It appears to be running the wrong firmware? All dials work

I need help to upgrade the firmware (I own eeprom/spi programmers) and wish to enable UART/I2C/CAN/SPI Decoding triggers.

Serial number of the unit is correctly configured in the windows computer name

Most appreciated

I've also got a LeCroy Wave Surfer 434, but I don't believe there are any serial bus decoding options for these.  Even if there are, they'd be paid licences.

One thing that might be worth trying is Sigrok, an open source logic analyser platform.  This seems to be able to take input from LeCroy oscilloscopes using the X-Stream platform (including the Wave Surfer 400 series).  See here:
https://sigrok.org/wiki/LeCroy_oscilloscope_series

I've been meaning to try that, but haven't got to it yet.

I believe my issue is worse the fact that the wrong software is installed please see the photo.
Of which I don’t know which is the correct one to put on nor know how.

The 4 waveforms are default shown and the oscilloscope does not take an input… decoding was the next step

But thanks for the suggestion

That looks like some sort of display mode or showcase mode. Have you read the manual? If all else fails try the "System Recovery" procedure in the manual. I think F4 on a keyboard.
