Hello everyone!
For better or worse I made and won a "lowball" offer on an HP 3478A. ($90 not including postage to the UK)
The seller had the following in the description: "rejected at a local calibration facility for dead internal battery and high range Ohms"
As I do too often I buy these things without doing enough research.

Having read about the battery I really hope it isn't completely dead and I can replace it before it loses calibration. Thankfully I've found a lot of info about this process!
The high range Ohms is what particularly worries me... I am waiting to hear from the seller about any other information from the calibration but I assume they found an issue reading high range resistance. What is the best way to go about figuring out exactly where the issue lies.
Last thing, I just want to check I'm not missing anything for the US to UK power conversion.
Install the correct powerline fuse: 125ma 250v slow burn.
Change the switches on the back to 240v 50hz
Open her up and change the internal transformer switch as detailed in the service manual.
Now I just need to wait for it to arrive in a few weeks!
Thanks!
