HP3325A Service notes (not service manual)
« on: May 09, 2020, 09:08:00 pm »
Hello,
Did someone have, has access to the old pool of HP service notes ?
I'm looking for the HP3325A services notes, and more precisely the service note 3325A-5A.
For archival purpose, it would be great to put a hand on all 3325A service notes.

Is something not covered by Section 7 0 Manual Backdating, or in the service section specifically ?

Yes, for example safety service note 3325A-11B-S is cited on 7-27 but without details.
3325A-5A is cited on 7-18  and is about a modification procedure to improve square ware phase control on SN 1748A02350 and below. It is perhaps how to add CR110 on A14, perhaps not.
And there is a lot of other, like the service note about the new A16 board which is a replacement for the A6 board, etc....
There is some missing parts in the end of the scan of the 3325B service manual, but no service note scans.

In my case, I have the chance to have a 3325A with a very hig serial number (2947Axxxxx) which has all latest revisions of board common to 3325A and 3325B and even not know in the 3325A service manual and a 516 rev B (A16) in place of the 506 (A6). It only misses the HV option board.
So I'm not directly concerned.

But it is very sad that all this surely not very big but important part of the documentation is lost for now.

Late to the party, but if anyone else finds this info, my hand is up for a copy.

Is there any Keysight members here that could provide some info?
Where does all this test equipment keep coming from?!?

I am restoring an HP 3325A and missing one piece of information I could not find in the Service Manual. In which direction the fan blow? From outside to inside or the opposite? Thank you

Logically speaking, if the filter is positioned externally (of the fan) it means that the fan takes air from the outside and sends it inside the instrument.
However, to corroborate my hypothesis, in the attached pic you can see the fan with the air-flow direction.

Thank you very much. Indeed, the filter was installed outside and your explanation is perfect.

Best
