LG LCD TV T-CON Board
« on: September 25, 2019, 03:08:27 pm »
Hello everyone! I have a LG 42LN5200 LCD TV that stoped showing image, it has backlight on, sound and changes channel but no image... I suspect the t-con board is at foult but when looking online for a new part o saw several boards with the same part number (6870C-0452A) but from/for diferrent TV's... My question is what sould i look for? The TV model or the board part number? The same board can be apllyed to diferent tv models?

Thank you for you time and knowlage!

Board number is more relevant, same T-Con's are used on different models.

Before replacing, of course check LVDS cable is correctly fitted.
On T-Con board check power is present before and after "F1" fuse.

If power is present before but not after, look for shorts on T-con then replace fuse.

If power is not present before, look for a defective (P)-MOS on mainboard responsible for power switching.

If power is present after, test for other voltages on T-Con on the larger diodes near the inductors.

First look for a small chip-fuse bad on the existing T-con board. You might get lucky.

Thanks for the replies! I will test the fuse and power on the board!  :-+
