My tv (32lb5820) has this issue where it powers only occasionally. Other times the standby led just blinks. I opened it up, disconnected the main board , probed the voltages and discovered a normal 3.6 volt line. However, when I connect the 3.6v line to the pwr-on line (without the main board attached), the 3.6 v rail drops rapidly to 0 volts before returning to 3 volt and resuming the cycle. Similar behaviour can also be observed on the 24 and 12 volt line.

This leads me to believe that the 12/24 volt circuitry on the power supply is faulty. Something may be internally shorted tripping the power supply’s failsafe. Any ideas where to start my diagnosis?

Maybe it‘s the common startup capacitor issue.
I suggest heating it up with a hairdryer and see whether it‘s more willing.
