Looking for informations on the TY94084FB chip
« on: December 16, 2021, 03:20:39 pm »
Hi,

I'm currently trying to repair an ECM which uses some Motorola TY94084FB drivers. The one driving the injectors still kind of works but seems too weak to drive them.

I looked for the datasheet to see what the output current specs are and if there is stuff like current limiting, etc... to confirm this IC is the source of the problem 100 % sure, but it was impossible to find it. I also contacted NXP over their chat and they told me they don't have this part number in their database.

It's a 20 pins SOP with thermal pad accross the long side and has 4 outputs, with pins 2, 9, 12 and 19 being the drains/collectors.

I would be forever thankful if someone has any kind of information on that IC (even just the pinout would be a start...) or at least a similar IC.

I already found that page during my research but sadly there's nothing on it that I don't already know.

Thanks a lot for looking for infos tho ;)

Oh wow, I think I found it: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/MC33385.pdf

I searched using the manufacturer, IC type and package :)

I'll have to trace most pins to see if it matches but that must be it, everything I know of it matches so far.

Edit:
Hi,
Look at here.
https://datasheetspdf.com/datasheet/search.php?sWord=TLE+62
https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf/318527/InfineonTechnologiesAG/TLE6220GP/1

Nice :D

It looks like an equivalent. Sadly it seems as obsolete as the MC33385 but at least I have datasheets to work from now, thanks ;)

No, I swear ;D

So I checked the pinout and the TLE6220GP doesn't match, it has its inputs where should be the outputs. But it is very similar otherwise.

As soon as you see those Motorola bat wings you can assume it is a house numbered part with no direct datasheet or cross reference!!! I worked on their pagers and two-way junk long enough to hate anything with the bat wings.

By bat wings you mean the Motorola logo? I'm pretty sure it was used on non-internal numbered ICs too.

So far the MC33385 seems to be the perfect cross ref. Even if I need to confirm it 100 % of course.

I just found this Freescale MPC563xM Engine Control Unit Reference Design:
http://www.frankencis.com/portals/2/frankencis/AN4156_MPC563xM_Engine_ReferenceAug2011_updated.pdf

It's not relevant to the current thread, but it's an interesting read.

That's pretty cool, thanks ;)

I wasn't home this week-end so I wasn't able to make the confirmation measurements I wanted to make yet.
