MacBook A2159 (2019) touch bar connector

I've gathered that this is a 26 pin, 0.4mm pitch connector, but could use some help figuring out exactly which brand/model it is (there are quite a few different options and sizes on Digikey!). I believe this is one of the two touch bar connectors.

Looks similar to Hirose DF40GB, however you should measure exact dimensions precisely and compare with datasheets. There are a lot of similarly looking connectors. It may be easier to buy a matching male/female pair of similar connectors and change both rather than finding an exact match.

Thank you! I'll check the datasheet for that connector. I tried measuring but ended up with connectors that didn't match the footprint :-)

Good try on the Hirose, but unfortunately, there are no 0.4 mm 26-pin Hirose connectors. I'm kind of ruling that one one.

Alright, I've checked the series for every 0.4mm connector on Digikey, nothing seems to match. Maybe someone has had to replace these.... Help!

Thank you! Somehow, looks like no part on the Hirose site actually match (the one linked to is 10 positions). I could give the 30 position part a try I guess!

It's probably a special order part, not off the shelf stuff. Here it's listed as DF40PG(1.5)-26DS-04V(51) but looks the same. https://www.hklrf.com/DF40PG1526DS04V51_6285.html
30 pin connector will not fit to male counterpart, not to say certain pins are connected to the shield.

yeah probably a special order part. apple is fan of it ... you may need a donor board.

Amazing, thank you all! I'm going to give replacing both plug and header with 30-position GB type. Never soldered on a flex cable, should be interesting.

Before you order them, check if shield pin locations actually match the old connector. Unless urgent, I would order that connector from China.
