Making dave_k's capacitor adapters at OSH Park
« on: May 27, 2017, 02:44:40 pm »
I tried to upload dave_k's gerber files for the small and large capacitor adapters he designed to OSH Park for manufacture.  All of the layers look okay on the website after uploading, except for the holes.  There's only one in the middle of the board.  Any help or suggestions appreciated.

I've attached dave_k's gerber files from his excellent Tektronix 7603/7613 Repairs topic here for convenience.

I'm going to use the adapters to recap my Tektronix 7633 - I have the caps and pins, just need the boards now.

Thank you,
Kevin

Hmm, might have been a problem when exporting the Gerber files. I'll double-check them tomorrow when I get into the office and see if I can produce better files for you.

Thank you for replying dave_k and your willingness to help.

OSH Park's help page for drilling is at: http://docs.oshpark.com/submitting-orders/drill-issues/, in case that is useful.  I'm not tied to OSH Park, but it seems like a very easy to use site, other than this issue with the holes.

Very much looking forward to using the boards.  I have a 7633 on my bench to be recapped.  I just won a 7603 on e-bay in nice cosmetic condition that is slow to start up.  First order of business will be to recap that, also.

The Harwin pins you used are nice, but pricey.  I bought a bunch, but I'm thinking of also trying out using header pins as a cheap alternative.

Respectfully,
Kevin

I uploaded the new files to OSH Park and they looked fine.  Placed an order, will let you know how they turn out.

Thank you,
Kevin

Oh man, I posted in the other thread then found this.  OSH Park seems much easier to use.

dave_k, these were a hell of an idea!

edit/ my batch of boards is slated for the June 32 OSH Park panel

I'm new here, but I tend to be pretty gregarious, so if I'm out of my lane please call me out.

Does someone intend on making these boards available on the "Shared Projects" area on the OSH Park website?

Today, only 26,000 remain.

I found it super easy to just upload the zipped gerber folders, really quite painless, and I couldn't figure out how to use iTead to save my life, they rendered just fine and the panel I'm on is off to fab.

Not saying having it as a shared project wouldn't be nice, but seriously it would probably take longer to navigate to it than upload the zips.

Does the person who puts the project in the Shared Projects area get OSH credit when someone orders the boards?

No,
as i share a few projects i would have liked to see a counter of some sort to get an idea of how many that have ordered my boards, that would have been fun  :-+

Can someone tell me if there's enough clearance for these adapters in a 400 series scope?
