Megmeet MIP329FL LCD TV PSU
« on: June 29, 2015, 10:13:27 pm »
Hi,
I'm after some service info on the Megmeet MIP329FL PSU/inverter. Google hasn't returned anything useful.

It's fitted in an el-cheapo "Cello" brand LCD TV with CCFL backlighting, but the PSU seems to be far better design and build quality than the norm for LCD TVs.

The backlight has failed but the signal processing side of the TV itself works fine.
The picture can be seen on the screen if a light is shone on to it.

There is some output from the inverter, but not sufficient to strike up the lamps.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Simon.

Maybe it's similar enough to some of their other models?

I had a look, couldn't get any schematic or useful info on how it works.
Somebody was saying the transformer is faulty, but I would have expected some fireworks if that was the case.
The transformer does get slightly warm - not as much as you'd expect in normal use though.
I might bring the set back home to investigate on the bench.

I do have an isolating transformer so can play safe testing primary side - the inverter runs off the main 400V and has transformer-isolated gate drive, not like the 24V inverters that most use.
