mettler pj400 scale repair need help please

hi i need some help, i have mettler pj400 and mettler  pj 3600 which both were ok thrn after transporting them packed very well both show the same problem. they turn on but the 0.00g keep blinking. i also press the button to access the menu and again nothing happens. i opened and checked all sockets but everything is in place. what is your suggestion? i need help please! thanks

Most likely "well packed" was not well at all with cone where platform is put on left with no protective cover or platform not removed at all. Look for broken  thin vertical metal links between moving parts in area shown on the photo. I suspect the part where platform is put on is totally loose in vertical direction.

So I will move my post here:

Perhabs the packet got some serious shock and the load cells or some mechanical part got damaged?
My only guess is it's failing to self-calibrate at boot and hanging there.

What's this plastic thing? Seems like a locking mechanism to prevent damage on shipping?
I know some scales have some locking method to prevent damage on shipping, so have look around it, and check the manual if you have it!
Have you tried rotating it so the notch aligns with the lever?



Did you transport them or was it bought online or something like that?
If you did it without locking them, they probably got damaged

I have no idea, found nothing in the online manuals, but if they were working before shipping and nobody touched them, it seems impossible they locked themselves.

If you bought them, then try asking the seller!

Have your tried calibrating them?

You won't be able to calibrate balance that cannot zero itself and proceed to normal operation when turning on.

i tried to see what you adviced but no trace of any irregularity. i also tried to unscrew the plastic screw to unlock it but no change. just when i move the black panel like thing it starts weighting. then when it gets down it shows only under line when i pull it up just up lines on the screen.
when i move it shows:

you are 100% right the part when platform is putted on is totally loose but it is sitting on bottom i can only pull that up. no trace of any broken part.

I have worked on Mettler balances many years back. Just so that you understand, Mettler does not sell spares to anyone other than the local agent in a given country. Some of these balances have certain service jigs or specialized tools that only the agent gets from Mettler. Those "flexible or bending bearings" are extremely delicate. There are specific methods on how to remove, install, and calibrate the mechanism before you do the user level calibration. Your chances of repairing any mechanical defect is nil. Take them to the agent who will charge you heavily but will be able to fix them.

thank to all of you for yoyr replies. they fix in turkey for 100-120$  i sold both of them for 200$ there. so dont mention that is gone bla bla it is possible to repair and make it like new in turkey. contact me if you need a contact there. thnx
