Miele W5873 Edition 111
« on: October 03, 2018, 05:19:17 pm »
Hi,

Got Miele washing machine to repair..

Motor doesn't spin.. after some time got F53 error.. (Motor / Tacho fault) but its not even trying to spin it..  Motor is 3phase.
On board is Full H-Bridge for it and big capacitor.. Capacitor charges but Mosfets are not driven not seen any voltages on gates..

Mosfet driver is IR21363S..

No burn marks or anything on board that can be seen..

Also strange is that cant open doors.. always say Door Locked..

Any thought about it?

Just some random thoughts from your description: Can you check if the tacho is working fine? Could be that the electronic checks if the tacho is present before try to drive the motor. I found something that it should have around 500Ohm.

One question wrt the door: Is the lock motor driven or using a bi-metall switch?

I measured tacho (but now forgot how much ohms) will check again tomorrow .. but it generates AC ( with hand turn i got about 5VAC)

About door lock if i remember correctly Miele often don't use those with thermal switches (but for sure check it also)

i have miele by my self too it can be opened whenever conditions are good (motor not spinning, water level is low and so on) but it opens instant (no need to wait for cooldown)

Ok measured tacho and door lock

Tacho resistance is 237 Ohm but im wondering is board measuring resistance at all maybe it just looks for AC signal, but im not sure.. also 500Ohm maybe is from those older Miele with carbon brushes?

Door lock is solenoid based.. resistance is 270 Ohm

I found that 500Ohm in another forum. The Miele service line told him 500Ohm, his had much lower and the replacement had also 250Ohm. So your one seems within the range I would say. Also you said you see pulses. No clue. :-//

Thank you TwoFlower for your help :)
Would be good to try replace eeprom.. Like i did in Miele Dryer.. it was stuck with fault code and no way to do anything.. Copyed from another same board .. and it came to a live :)
This washing machine have over 6000 operating hours

Attached eeprom from this one..
