milwaukee 0222-1 corded drill repair and part identify
« on: June 28, 2021, 02:53:12 pm »
Hello,
I have an old milwaukee 0222-1 hole shooter corded AC drill.
I was wondering if anyone knows what is the part circled in picture 2 and what is its purpose
The service parts document calls it a "remote electronic assembly"

Is this the part that controls the variable speed?
I thought the variable speed triac circuitry was built into the actual switch.

Thanks

It agree it is part #45 (remote electronic).  I suspect the "remote" part derives from it being separate from the speed control switch.  It is part of the variable speed electronics.

I'd assume it's the triac, plus some bits and bobs.  You can look at the switch assembly and see what is there.

The part is obsolete, but there's a seller on Amazon that appears to have a few left.  I don't know how easy it would be to make your own and fit it in there.

A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.
