Mitsubishi E200 HMI
(1/1)
gurar:
Hello,

I have several Mitsubishi E200 HMI with similar problems.  They power up OK and run the self-test diagnostics OK.  However, they immediately show messages "Formatting Flash" and "Erasing Memory" before going to the Edit/Transfer/Setup menu.  At that point, I can navigate the menus and then load and verify my project via SW-MTA-WIN and the HMI functions normally.  If I quickly cycle power, it starts up normally.  If I wait several seconds before powering up, I get the Formatting and Erasing messages again.  I have replaced the surface-mount flash memory chips with no change and loaded BIOS 4.03 with Sysload.  Any ideas why my project keeps getting erased?  Thank you.

Thanks.  That first link was also me, 14 years ago.  No luck back then, and I returned the HMI I had bought on ebay.  I have a little more experience now, but this is clearly a board issue.  I had assumed the flash memory chip was faulty (thus requiring to be reformatted), so I got some new chips and had them installed.  High hopes, but no luck again.  Dunno if the RAM chip or main processor is causing this trouble, or maybe something else on the board.
