Model 102 battery holder spring contacts
« on: October 21, 2018, 02:32:09 pm »
The holder for the 4 AA cells is screwed to the motherboard, I couldn't find a new one like it. Luckily, Keystone still makes the wire springs that (seem to) fit into the plastic!
Isn't that cool?

Originally I wanted to harvest the springs from a new holder but they use riveted contacts or sometimes a little metal plate. Not one used this little binocular thingy. Also the 102's pack solders the springs right into the board, no wires. I was also able to get the springs for that although I will have to do some bending.
I might never get this thing to work but at least it'll be clean enough.
