Hi all
(my first post here)
I have a recent model Benq 32" monitor (PD3200U-T) - which is not working.
* It is not totally dead - lights come on when you switch it on. There is no start-up display, or menuing etc - it is blank - but I think the backlight is working - eg the screen has a glow - like a normal screen when it's displaying black, but there is some backlight light glow coming through.
* The screen itself is not damaged (the unit has no blemishes at all).
* When the monitor starts, it doesn't display any sort of startup screen or menu (just that black screen with a faint glow from backlight). But pressing the menuing buttons on the front, it would appear that they still trigger something - such as the backlight going off and on and LEDs flashing on or off (even though nothing is displayed).
* Nothing happens if connected via HDMI to devices.
* All the electrolytic capacitors test ok (removed from the PCB).
* No component on the two boards inside it look cooked or damaged, and there aren't any burning smells when it's on (or sounds eg noisy caps etc).
Any suggestions of where to start, or previous experience which can point to solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
