Msi Rx570 armor 8gb
« on: February 13, 2020, 11:35:09 am »
Hello everyone, I have a Msi rx 570 armor 8gb that stopped working, and I decided to give it a try and try to figure out what was wrong with it and try to fix it. So I started measuring all the power lines, and then I tried to check the enable signals in the buck converters since all what was missing seemed to be the power to the memory and the gpu, but while doing so I accidentally shorted something so a 2R2 resistor inmediatelly started smoking.

So I replaced that resistor but now I have a short to ground in the 12V power line that I can't figure out where it is coming from.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to continue? I am quite new to this kind of stuff and I think I ran out of ideas.

I leave a couple pictures of the board. I have shown in the front one the resistor that I replaced.

Thank you in advance for your help

Well, it seems I made some progress, it seems the two mosfets highlighted in yellow were shorted, I'm going to try to replace them with new ones and see what happens.

I'll post my progress in case it can help somebody else.
