Fluke 123 Scopemeter is dead
« on: May 10, 2023, 10:46:59 am »
My Scopemeter 123 is broken.
Unfortunately, I replaced the battery with a battery where the polarities were reversed.
It fried resistors R504/506/507 and apparently nothing else.
I replaced these 3 resistors with equivalent resistors but it still does not work.
No ignition, no relay noise or buzzer.

I performed all the tests in the Fluke service manual and found no abnormality.
I have all the voltages necessary for starting including +3.3V.
All transistors and diodes are compliant.
According to the Fluke manual the software is corrupted and needs to be reloaded.

What is the procedure and what software do I need to reload?

Thank you for your help.

I tried to reload the file but I have a communication error between the PC and the Scopemeter.
In the Fluke info it is indicated that it is necessary to put the device on but it is impossible since it does not work.

I tried my interface on another Scopemeter and it works without difficulty.

Is there another way to put the Scopemeter into programming mode?

How could reversed battery corrupt firmware?
If flash memory or CPU is fried by reversed battery you cannot reload firmware anyway, before flash/CPU has been renewed.

If you give up before wrecking it too much, I'm in France and looking for a cheap parts unit.
