actually the pan was removed and the under pan part was covered so it was impossible to get an overload damage. the strangest thing is why i can not access menu at all? only switch on and off and blinking 0.00. will try to unscrew that part but do you think that may be the case? thanks

If it's broken, it should be obvious. It's basically a flat rectangular piece of metal with screw holes on its ends and is milled in the middle to a very thin thickness. If it's broken, you will have two separate pieces instead of a single part. I do not have similar Mettler balance at hand to verify and last time I used these was a few years ago but probably menu will not be accessible until balance properly initializes.

You can unscrew the whole mechanism from the bottom, take it out and look from sideways if this part is broken. No need to take the mechanism itself apart, and I suggest not taking it apart needlessly as you can easily mess up adjustment. If it's broken, sadly there is nowhere to get replacement part other than salvage from another balance. You can hack something to replace it but performance won't be the same.

Yes, that's the thing. However if it's not broken (not clear on the photo), the rest of mechanism should be moving together with part with brass cone on it. In other words distance between the two screws on the photo must not change when you move the mechanism. As this thingy is what transfers all of the force to the rest of mechanism.
