Need help identifying these smds for repair
« on: August 04, 2016, 02:59:35 pm »
This board is out of a retron 5 game console.
Two of the smds look like they got a bit toasty.

I think the first three letters/numbers on this one are: CU5 ?

This higher res image I found on the web is the same board but I *think* they must have changed parts on it or mine.
You can clearly see the numbers on them: C041FB and CU40B
I'm not sure if those are zeros or letter Os.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
 William

I couldn't find any part number using those marking codes, but from the location near the inductor it is clearly a synchonous stepdown regulator.

Ya I tried several sites searching for them also and couldn't come up with anything.

The connectors on the right side of the board in the last picture from top to bottom are:
5v dc power plug, micro usb, reset switch, HDMI, sd card slot.

awesome I think this is just what i need!
Looks like I have to get these from China but that gives me time to finish setting up my work bench.
replacing these are going to be "interesting". I guess next step is to figure out if anything else
is wrong that caused them to blow. I'm hoping someone just plugged in the wrong power supply.
