Need help with part markings
« on: October 28, 2023, 12:38:30 am »
I have been asked to identify the ICs in an SK hynix Beetle X31 1TB SSD.

I believe "FUF" is a stepdown converter:

The pinout appears to be ...

1 - Enable
2 - ?
3 - Feedback
4 - Ground
5 - Lx
6 - Vin

I suspect FTJ and FU8 are also stepdown converters, probably from the same manufacturer, and possibly with similar pinouts.

GD Q3EE is a GD25Q40EEIG serial flash memory.

28 is a stepdown converter. I have confirmed, by reference to other PCBs, that 3Z is a date/batch code.

I have no idea about JK or S or Y34F+2892.

And what has your own research turned up so far? People will help if you get stuck, but we’re not gonna do the whole job for you.

I don't have the SSD. All I have is what you see. I'm trying to help the person who maintains this SSD database:

https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/

I have provided a probable pinout, and I have identified one of the ICs.

Unfortunately, Google has been absolutely shit recently for finding anything with any amount of detail, including part markings.

And what has your own research turned up so far? People will help if you get stuck, but we’re not gonna do the whole job for you.
Give him some slack; he's helped a lot of others with part identification in the past.

I've checked my archive of the infamous Russian site and can't find anything matching either :(

I had a lot of trouble finding the GigaDevice part. I suspected that it was in fact a GigaDevice SPI flash memory, but even after I found the datasheet, there was no part marking info. Instead, I had to infer the identity by reference to photos of similar parts at AliExpress.

It's a different marking style (font and dot/dash codes), but this may be the "FTJ" part:

[Very bad] photos of the SSD and the bridge PCB:

I almost wanted to give up but ...

Y347 + 2892 is made by Global Mixed-mode Technology Inc.

There is an image of a Y34A + 2892 part here (also an image of 2898):

I suspect the part number is G2892. However, the site search finds nothing.

My guess is that it is a 5V e-fuse or current limit switch or high side load switch.

G2898 is a dual high side load switch (14-pin):
