« on: December 05, 2020, 07:12:02 pm »
Hi all,im not sure where to post this but here goes anyway, ive just brought an avometer model8 mk11,it seems fine on most ranges'but' on the ohms divide by 100 range it seems to multiply ie a 100 ohm reads 10k and the same resistor on the multiply x 100 range like 0 ohm,are they supposed to be like this?,its like it works opposit to what i expect,am i going barmy??.

Sounds perfectly normal.  On the รท100 range you divide the reading by 100 (10k/100 = 100Ohms).  On the x100 you multiply the reading by 100 i.e. your 100R resistor probably read close to 1ohm, so multiply by 100, though this clearly isn't a suitable range for low resistances.
