Needing help identifying a couple of components
« on: July 27, 2016, 09:18:14 pm »
Hey, Thanks for looking at my post. I am looking to identify 2 components on a PCB i am repairing.
The board is used for heart rate so i am assuming one is a sender and one is a receiver for the heart rate.

Thanks in advance for any help.  :)

Jamie

If it's from a pulse oximeter (heart rate plus O2 saturation) then the top picture is a dual LED, one Red and one IR die. The bottom one is a photodiode.

Thats fantastic, Thank you very much.
I have just checked the top chip with my Diode Tester and it does emit red light.
Thank you very much for your help.

You should be able to see the IR bit by viewing it through a phone camera!
.  That took much longer than I thought it would.

Just don't to use an iphone rear camera as they have an IR blocking filter in them
