Hi all. When the device is short-circuited to itself, it shows a very large THD+N value at 1kH. If you increase the frequency to 3kH, the THD+N value becomes 0.006. What could be the reason? I also ask you to send the service manual to crazynetwork.km@gmail.com. Thank you! |

Hi, you can monitor the error signal (so basically just the distortion part) on the monitor outputs using an oscilloscope. That should give you a clue to what is wrong. Post results. That said, this thing has a linear power supply that has a design flaw. The electrolytic capacitors are right next to a big heat sink and prone to dry out. I would advise you to use a scope to check if there is 100Hz ripple on the power rails. Since these devices date back to the 90s, I wouldn't be surprised if those caps are dry. |

Try switching the 400Hz HPF while measuring the 1KHz distortion. If this results in a drop in the measured distortion level it could indicate that the O/P signal from the generator is contaminated by ripple on the PSU rails. |

When 400Hz HPF is turned on, the noise decreases but not significantly. |

Help with a service manual if anyone can! |
