Nintendo 2DS motherboard repair - Missing cap
« on: July 12, 2017, 02:46:22 pm »
Hello,

Someone gave me a Nintendo 2DS that won't turn on, to repair. Upon further inspection, i believe the problem is not on the screen but on the motherboard. I found what appears to be a missing cap on it.

It can be seen on the following image:

I can't find a schematic for the console online and can't either know the value of other capacitors near that appear to be the same.

Can someone help me?

Best regards,

Miguel

It looks like some kind of feed trough, What happens if you connect the top and bottom (if you dare)?
Keyboard error: Press F1 to continue.

Have you checked the designators under the flex cable to see that they are definitely caps?
