Noob Question About Macbook Pro 820-3787-A Board Repair
« on: March 09, 2019, 05:18:38 pm »
I am working on a Macbook Pro board (820-3787-A for A1398) and see "XW7700" AND "XW7701" listed on the boardview near the backlight driver (U7701). Boardview & schematic indicates pin 1 is "GND_LCDBKLT_SGND" and pin 2 is simply ground. However, I do not see anything on the board, not even pads.

I am very new to working on boards, but I am pretty sure that nothing is supposed to be there (and there isn't), but am certainly looking to learn more and understand exactly what that is or isn't.

I can share screenshots of the area in question, but unfortunately cannot share actual images.

Thanks.

I found the answer elsewhere. XW on Mac schematics simply indicate a PCB trace or wire. Figured I would post that here in case someone else is searching for the same information later.

I would be very grateful if you could publish it to see if I am able to see where the 5v power supplies go
