Title: Not really a Repair question HP53131A but a question
Post by: smgvbest on September 22, 2015, 01:29:12 am
I was wondering if anyone has looked at being able to upgrade a 53131A to a 53132A?
I was looking at the schematics and it's really a Xilinx FPGA and 2 ADC's plus discrete's and the 53132A ROMs.  the FPGA doesn't appear to be hooked up to any memory itself to load it so image in it's programmed via a micro at boot.

Has anyone given it any thought to doing this? Or know it's not possible?
on a side topic,   there's a foot print for a math coproccessor.  anything know if just adding one does anything worthwhile?
