Old panasonic inverter microwave - inverter repair
« on: April 11, 2019, 07:47:24 pm »
Hi,
my microwave just stopped working, i took it apart and noticed a blown ceramic 3kV capacitor on the inverter HV side, it was also sparking in that spot.
I replaced it and when i turned on the heating, the new cap blew again and split in half.
I do not see any other damaged components. I checked the high voltage rectifier and the diodes have both Vdrop of around 2.8V. One of the diodes seemed to have a cold connection. Could that be causing the HV cap to blow?
The transformer reads dead short which seems kind of strange to me, is it supposed to be like that?
My other idea is that the logic does not give correct PWM causing the inverter to put out too much power or something.
Anyone got any idea what to do? I would be like to repair atleast the inverter and giving it my own logic (from an arduino or whatever).
Thanks!
