Oltronix Power Supply B703 repair help
« on: October 21, 2024, 08:58:07 am »
I got one Oltronix Power Supply B703 - myself but it has shorted primary and secondary looks fried - want to try to rewind it.
One problem - there is no info about secondary voltages in SM.

I will be glad if someone who have it will find some time and measure secondaries voltages :D

Thanks!

Hi!
You do not need to know the voltage when the transformer fails. Just remember the number of turns, the thickness of the wire and the direction of winding.
Judging by the photo, your PS provides all the set voltages.

Photo isn't mine - just for clarification of device face - mine have dark goo leaked from secondary side + blown off diode rectifier :(

Hi!

Could you make some good photos of broken parts as well as a general view of the device intestines.

Besides the obviously broken transformer and the cracked rectifier, i see a lot of RIFA caps in the device.
I wonder if they contributed to the damage?

Rewind the transformer. It's not as difficult as it seems. Draw only all the winding data.
