Onkyo TX8255 memory leak (Solved)
« on: January 16, 2023, 01:47:46 pm »
Hi,
I have an amplifier tuner onkyo TX that loses the memory of FM stations during a power cut.
After looking at the diagram, I think it is the C704 capacitor (super capa) which must be in default.
I attach below 3 extract from the schematics to view this capacitor.
Before the amp is disassembled, I would like your opinion on this problem.
Thanking you in advance
Remi

I have repaired Onkyo amps with leaky supercaps before, it is a rhing with them when they get older. Be sure to check for corrosion damage to the PCB!
Where does all this test equipment keep coming from?!?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I will take time to clean the circuit when replacing the capacitor. :-/O

After spending 1 hour on the amplifier, the modification is done and everything works correctly   :-+
Below picture of location capacitor has replaced, and the picture of the defective capacitor.

thanks for the feedback.
