Osciloscope screen flickering
« on: March 23, 2021, 08:37:00 pm »
Hi,
I have borrowed an osciloscope (DS1102E) from school - first few months it worked wonderfully, then I didn´t use it for like a month or two. After that I plugged it in and started probing with it - the scope works fine, except that the screen flickers quite badly (I´m gonna upload a video to YouTube and post it there later).
Is this like an common issue? Is there something I can do to fix it? Could flashing firmware resolve this issue (the scope is from school, so I don´t want to mess with it unnecessarily)?

Thanks for any help.

Don't mess with it.  Return it and explain.  Perhaps they can have it fixed and lend it to you again.  Otherwise you are setting yourself up for trouble and expense should they blame you for the problem.

Use the quick start guide below and use the AUTO setup while on the internal probe calibration source. If autoset doesn’t reset the problem take it back to school and explain what happened.
