Philips 40HFL5010L/12 TV repaired
« on: September 09, 2021, 09:34:07 am »
Hello,

Yesterday I found this 40" TV on the street, it was clear that someone thought it could be repaired, as it was nicely placed, prominently, on an edge besides the rubbish bins.
I quickly found the issue: shorted SMD diode on secondary side. Sorry, no solder side picture, but it was under the red circle in the attached image.
It was a SK510C, replaced with a THT SR510. I drilled a hole to pass a leg through and soldered the other leg to some bridges.

It's a hotel TV from 2017 with some commercial features that are useless at home, and the SmartTV is atrocious and obsolete. However, a 40" FullHD TV for free is not bad :)

Cheers
