Philips 42PF3320/10 plasma TV flashing
« on: May 04, 2015, 07:45:36 pm »
Hi,

Im tring to repair a old (2005) plasma tv. the tv turns on and flickers at aprox 1hz between allmost white then black (see video).

1 rails are at their correct voltages but there is alot of ripple (see picture 1 and picture 2) during the blink "on" phase on all rails.
2. There is a buzzing commig from the Y-sustain board.
3. There is no stable y-sus wave when the logic board is attached
4. If the logic board is detached there is a stable y-sus wave (picture 3)
5. I have changed the IPMS's on the y-sustain
6. Upon serching on the internet i found that missing/low 5v on the y-buffers or missing y-sch could cause this issue. but i dont know where these are found.

Can anyone help?

Try replacing all the electrolytic caps. They are the components with the most wear and replacing them solves a great majority of issues in erratically functioning devices.
