Please help ID this chip?
« on: December 17, 2018, 10:24:29 pm »
Hi guys and gals, hoping for some help here. Three of these chips on the motherboard of my MSI laptop and the one pictured in the center of the pics is the troublemaker.
Some power-type chip. 4309 RQ91T. It's sitting right after the power jack (alongside a partner as seen in first pic)- there's another one down near the battery connection too.

It seems to be dead, an internal short or something. Gets nice and toasty with minimal power so I'm hoping that's all that is stopping the board from working.

However I can't find a single clue about what it is, google returns nothing relevant and a replacement board is upwards of AU$800 so I'm desperately hoping that I can replace the chip and maybe luck will be on my side.

Thanks for any assistance!

It matches the pinout of a SO-8 MOSFET. Pins 1,2 and 3 connected together. Pins 5,6,7, and 8 connected together.

Search for 4309 MOSFET.

Mosfet, if you see 4 pins together on one side,3 pins together on the other one even if you're not a genius you realize it's a transistor and what else but a mosfet used as commuting
