The Polk Audio PSW111 subwoofer I have was not doing well. It would produce white noise with nothing plugged in and basically not amplify (perhaps I could hear a bit of sound, very faint and not base).
I found this website and they pointed at two 47uF/63V caps:
https://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/175654/polk-psw111-sub-woofer-heartbeatI ended up getting on the digikeys and getting a number of capacitors (Nichicon of course). Noting polarity I replaced the high voltage input capacitor, a 120uF/63V and the two 47uF/63V and sure enough it now works again.
I checked and one of the 47uF/63V caps was out of spec (only 1.3uF, not 47uF). I didn't bother to dig up the cheap component tester for an ESR measurement.
