Power Designs 6050A
« on: January 28, 2015, 09:20:59 pm »
I am in need of some Info to fix this. From the manual I need CR23 and CR24, Silicon Rectifiers part # TS44 or GI44 and CR25 a silicon controlled rectifier Part #C13F . As far as I can tell these are unique part # to Power Designs.  Any one know what can be substituted
that can be bought now days  or is there a PD parts X-over pub. some where  or where to get old/new PD parts

Thanks
Paul

From https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/help-with-power-designs-6050c/, try a 1N4004. They look like "standard" basic switching diodes from the schematic. The only thing that you might want to check is that their forward voltage drop is  near 0.6V each (they look to be used to bias the base of Q18. Also, I noticed the nasty scorch marks around R58; that is part of the crowbar circuit. Makes me think that the supply took a nasty over voltage on the output.

I have the manual for this model at home; I'll look up CR25 for you tonight.
